The Northern California Chapter of VOTF wants to discern what's best for the future of the archdiocese of San Francisco. Only thing is, by the time this meeting takes place, Son of Darth might already be planning his installation... Here's the release:

We need your help to get out the word that NorCal VOTF is hosting a meeting so both the lay and ordained can express what/who/how the next Archbishop of San Francisco will be. First, brunch while gathering, registering and saying hello. The new Archbishop will be the Metropolitan of No. Ca. dioceses and also of Nevada, Hawaii, Utah. Idaho.

Keynote by Sally Vance-Trembath,Vatican II theologian, received her Ph.D from Notre Dame. Then small groups.

The Voice of the Faithful invites the People of God to to gather in prayer to speak, to listen, to reflect, and to discern the future Pastoral leadership of the Archdiocese of San Francisco. This is in our ancient Catholic tradition. St John Chrysostom 400AD was elected to Patriarch of Constantinople by acclamation of the people..

"Express[ing] what/who/how the next archbishop of San Francisco will be..." That's interesting language. Here's my expression in a nutshell: You won't know what until you know who, you won't know how until you know who -- and you won't know who until 3am Pacific on a Tuesday.

Does that accomplish the afternoon's work?

And a correx: the Province of San Fran does not include Idaho -- Boise is in the Province of Portland in Oregon...
