Papabile's got some great stuff up on the permanent diaconate -- first on a New York state judge who is taking a leave of absence from his diaconal ministry to avoid conflict with Egan's recent order barring clergy from public office, and then something about potential difficulties in the lives of deacons and their families.

As always, definitely worth a visit and a thoughtful read.
