Shoot Your Cuffs

Zadok the Roman -- who wonders why I get so many calls from our future priests -- finds a bizarre story about a stolen SS ring and the efforts of German police to find it. According to the Daily Telegraph in London, such a ring can bring in $14,000 (UKĀ£8,000) or thereabout when hawked on the internet.

I must confess that this brings to mind the seminarian (now ordained) who possessed heirloom SS cufflinks. Boy wouldn't shy away from wearing 'em, either.

But fret not, Catholic folk: as said gentleman was (one of the few, in my experience) possessed of moderately-seated heterosexual tendencies, you can rest safe in knowing that your church is safe and you don't have to think a second thing about it.
