Washington Digest: Liturgy, Laity and Lacking Morale, Oh, My!

So your friendly national episcopal conference is currently at the Shrine for its big opening Mass.... And then the dinner for the boys on campus at CUA (not the Nuncio's residence, as reported earlier), then everyone heads back to the Shrine for a concert.

Tonight, for once, Al Tiramisu must be absolutely desolate.

Votes on the documents on the death penalty and lay ministry have been delayed until tomorrow, before the media and observers get kicked out yet following the selection of the General Secretary-designate, who will take office in February. Suffice it to say, the floor is abuzz on the latter item....

Also, many interesting things were said today in the discussion on liturgical translation.... But to report on it would surely be saying too much.
