Under pressure from major investors, Knight-Ridder the owner of the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News (and the Miami Herald, San Jose Mercury News, St. Paul Pioneer-Press, Kansas City Star, Belleville News-Democrat, Myrtle Beach Sun News... you get the idea) has announced that it will "explore strategic alternatives to enhance shareholder value, including a possible sale of the company."
