With half the precincts and an 80,000 vote lead, the AP has called the Garden State governor's race for Jon Corzine. And now the battle begins over who gets the appointment to Corzine's Senate seat.

So despite being given the perfect storm of a gay governor with a corrupt administration and party lackeys, and the candidate's wife appearing on advertisements loudly declaring her husband's pro-choiceness, a Republican still cannot win statewide in New Jersey. Ouch.
