Election Update, Part One

Doug Forrester -- the proudly pro-choice Republican who used to write about aliens -- is up four points (51-47) in the Jersey governor's race 20 minutes after the polls have closed.

And in Virginia, where voting ended an hour and a half ago with 55% of the precincts reporting, Jesuit-loving Democrat Tim Kaine holds a 4.5-point lead over Republican Jerry Kilgore, who looks like a Bobblehead doll. Don't be fooled and pop the champagne just yet, however -- most of the preliminary results seem to be coming in from Northern Virginia, where Kilgore seems to be holding his own. When the Republican-addicted Southwest and Southside come in, things could change, but they will narrow. Not to mention GOP-heavy Hampton Roads.

Kilgore may look like a bobblehead, but Kaine has that wierd eyebrow-thing going on!

Thank God it didn't deter voters!

Let's hope it's the start of a trend of Democrats who aren't afraid to speak out on their faith!
