Sic Transit Cappa Magna?

Take this with a grain of salt, but as it's the buzz on the ground, it deserves an airing.

According to a Roman source, Ray Burke has told friends he expects to be named the next archbishop of Washington.

Happy, happy, joy, joy?

What a bunch of boloney!

Whether Burke will be the next archbishop of DC, I don't know, but I know him well enough to say he's not proud enough or stupid enough to go around saying he's expecting to be the successor.

Besides, McCarrick isn't even 75, yet.

Somehow, I doubt this story too.

It's unseemly for bishops to be transferred from diocese to diocese except perhaps for a great need. 1700 years ago Burke would have been considered an adulterer for leaving LaCrosse.

That's neochurch bull****,
Todd and you know it. The pope does have the right to move anyone where he wants them, whether you like it or not. The church is not a private club.

McCarrick is 74. In a few more weeks he'll be 75.
