From the newsworthiest archdiocese of the Midwest, a couple tidbits:

• Chaput's beloved portavoce, the uber-talented Sergio Gutierrez, is leaving to join a political consulting firm with, er, strong GOP ties. He's only 29, meaning he was 27 when he was hired to be spokesman. Wow, that's young. I wonder who'll be next.....
• As for the Archbishop, he's in Cordoba at an OSCE Conference on Intolerance. John Allen wrote about one set of remarks focusing on anti-Semitism in this week's Word. But the more interesting intervention -- which deals with the Christian roots of Europe, fundamentalism, and religious freedom and identity -- can be found here.
