Recalling the Lion

Lest we forget, this hour marks 12 years since this Stateside church, a Gotham he came to cherish, and in a particular way, the River City he never stopped seeing as home lost one of the great icons of American Catholic history -- not just a good priest, but an all-time legend: a figure beyond mighty in his time... and for many among this crowd, a well-loved father, brother and friend.

For those of us who knew him, that powerful voice and heroic witness will never be forgotten.
