Hello, Washington... Hello, Vatican

On this Gusmas Eve, greetings from the Nation's Capital, where -- in a reversal of today's Main Event -- the Rome crew's descending for tomorrow's ordination of the aforementioned, much-loved Di Noia, the incoming archbishop-secretary of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments.

More in the morning... but for now, it's worth noting that the 2pm ET (1800GMT) liturgy -- presided over by the prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, assisted by the "Little Ratzinger" of Culto Divino and the archbishop of Washington -- will be: 1. open to the public for those nearby... and 2. streamed live in full for everyone at a distance.

At the close of an exhausting, chaotic week, it's still great as ever to be back in the District; Happy Weekend to one and all (and thanks to everyone who's helped with the travel budget) -- more to come, once the traveling shop's all set up.
