Not "Imminent." Again.

Over recent months, the cause of John Henry Newman has been getting even more interest than usual, amid several instances of premature buzz that an announcement of the famed convert's beatification was "imminent."

Given the spotlight, in an unusual public statement it's been announced that the "miracle jury" at the Congregation for the Causes of Saints -- which had been slated to vote on the presented case of a Massachusetts deacon's cured back ailment late last month -- needs more time to reach its conclusion.

Beginning next week, applications will be accepted for tickets to the 2 November Mass at which Newman's body will be re-interred in the Birmingham Oratory, where his remains will lie in state from 31 October.
