Letter from Belleville
So did Bishop Edward Braxton of Belleville really spend tens of thousands of dollars to send copies of his first pastoral letter to every Catholic household in his 103,000-member diocese?
That's what I'm hearing.
Would it really be surprising?
Um, given the record, hell no.
Couldn't all that money have just been spared and the letter placed online? Oh, they did that, too. Just in case, you know, anyone got left out.
As copies of The Wisdom Community are going for CAN$42 used, it seems the cost was just about right. Especially as I hear the text of the pastoral is, for all intents and purposes, identical to that of Braxton's aforementioned book, written in 1980.
Go figure.
