A Notable Caller...
You'd think the Pope would like a serene Friday.... However, in this morning's list of audiences, the Vatican announced that Benedict XVI had received Fr Álvaro Corcuera Martínez del Río in private audience.
Who is Martínez del Río, you may ask? None other that Maciel's successor as Superior General of the Legionaries of Christ.
Hmm, indeed.
Oh, and as Cardinal Sepe is technically gone -- from the Curia, at least -- Archbishop Robert Sarah, secretary of the Propaganda Fide, is handling the dicastery's meetings with the Pope until Cardinal Ivan Dias arrives from Bombay. Sarah was in today, too.
