Sock Drawers and Shelf Altars

Speaking of the lives of the saints, an excerpt from James Martin SJ's My Life with the Saints has been excerpted on Beliefnet. It's about his "Saint of the Sock Drawer" -- St. Jude. And there's also some audio there of him speaking of other favorites, canonized and not (well, not yet).

FYI, the book is nearing its fourth printing already, but two months into its release.

Fr Martin's currently in Lourdes on pilgrimage. In related trivia -- and this might jog some of your memories a bit -- but what other ecclesiastical media wonder never went to Europe without stopping at the Grotto of Masabielle???
