A Stellabration!
From the journalists' parish, we're all excited for the Great David Gibson and his Darling Josephine at the arrival of a beautiful baby girl, Stella Loizeaux, born early Sunday (the Feast of St. Ignatius Loyola!) and weighing in at 6 pounds, 3 ounces. She is, indeed, the cutest baby ever born.
Dave -- author of The Coming Catholic Church, formerly of Vatican Radio, the (Newark) Star-Ledger and currently rettore magnifico of the Religion Newswriters Association -- is working on a much-anticipated bio of Ratzi for Harper SanFrancisco. Behind-the-scenes, he has always been for me a sterling mentor and trusted adviser who has done much to keep me sane and bring the making of a Vatican analyst to pass over the last five years. I can't wait to hear a new voice in the background on our traditional Monday morning call.
