B16 on Roger: Santo Subito!
"Brother Schutz is in the hands of eternal goodness, of eternal love, and has arrived at eternal joy."
With these words from Castel Gandolfo this morning, it's clear that the Pope sees Frere Roger as a saint, literally one who has, already, entered into his heavenly reward. And if you don't believe me, then what about the parallel with the following:
"We can be sure that our beloved Pope is standing today at the window of the Father’s house, that he sees us and blesses us. Yes, bless us, Holy Father."
You don't need me to tell you Ratzinger chooses his words with the greatest care and precision. Neither would've been said had he any doubt.
